The M1 Max has 32 cores, double the M1 Pros. The GPU has 4,096 execution units and twice as many concurrent threads as the M1 Pro (98,304 vs. 49,512). The 10-core M1 Pro variant we tested with 32GB of memory and 512GB SSD worked quite well.

Product Comparison

The good thing is that the 14-inch MacBook Pro also does a wonderful job in this area. Musicians and music producers frequently utilize MacBooks in addition to video editors and photographers. In our battery benchmark tests, where we continuously played a 1080p video until the battery died, we discovered that it lasted a very outstanding 15 hours, 58 minutes, not far off Apple’s promises of 17-hour battery life.

The 13-inch MacBook Pro (M1, 2020) in the same test lasted 13 hours and 22 minutes.
