The Acer Swift 3 Thin Laptop performs better than comparable laptops in its price range despite being a low-cost device. The Swift line illustrates that just because a machine has a low price tag doesn’t mean it can’t be a reliable computer, in contrast to most cheap laptops that only offer a barely adequate computing experience.

We’re happy to report that the Acer Swift 3 has significantly improved over last year’s model after running it through a battery of benchmark tests and testing for its CPU, GPU, and other components. There aren’t many issues with the Acer Swift 3 regarding playing videos and everyday use.

The Swift 3 handled running the famously resource-hungry Google Chrome with twenty tabs open without a hitch, even when one was running an Udemy course and another had a Slack channel open.

When trying to run numerous tabs with many advertisements, the system appeared to struggle a little, but this is true of most systems, and, in reality, the issue is more widespread than just a single Acer laptop.

The Acer Swift 3 2020 handled some light gaming through Steam without any issues and maintained a steady frame rate through the middle of a Stellaris game. However, when the end-game crisis arrives.

The Intel UHD Graphics GPU is forced to track 200+ corvettes and destroyers weaving between a few dozen capital ships firing lasers and fusion torpedoes, the fans will start to run, and you will notice a noticeable decrease in responsiveness.

The webcam and integrated microphone are both useful yet underwhelming. Both are inadequate for teleconferencing using Zoom or a comparable service for business purposes, but neither is sufficient for Twitch streaming, professional YouTube broadcasting, or anything similar.

However, in the PC Mark 10 battery test, the Swift 3 ran in performance mode for 6 hours and 12 minutes with a balanced power profile and achieved a full eight hours in modest battery-saver mode.
